5 couples get engaged during Pokémon GO Fest: Madrid

Pokémon GO Fest: Global returned this past weekend, and it saw millions of Trainers worldwide enjoy rotating habitats with the opportunity to catch a wide range of Pokémon. Turns out some of those Trainers also decided to tie the knot.

Over at Pokémon GO Fest: Madrid, a whopping five couples celebrated proposals during the event. Niantic had reached out to fans prior to the event to see if they had plans on popping the question at Pokémon GO Fest, and five people responded. Niantic then gave these couples the chance to celebrate their proposal during the Pikachu and Eevee ‘Meet and Greet’ photo opportunity.

Obviously one half of these proposals had no idea the big moment was coming, as the surprise is more than half the fun! Thankfully, all five surprise proposals went off without a hitch, and the life partners to be all answered the question with a resounding “Yes!”.

While all of these couples obviously share a love of Pokémon, some of them have an even stronger bond through Pokémon GO, as they ended up meeting each other through the game years ago. Pretty neat to see that not only are these couples still enjoying Pokémon GO together, but it also facilitated their entire relationship!
