Splatoon 3 comes to Tetris 99 on Aug. 16th, 2024

Nintendo has announced the 42nd MAXIMUS CUP event for Tetris 99. This time around, the theme is Splatoon 3 (and its Expansion Pass), Nintendo’s own popular multiplayer shooter. The event will begin Friday August 16th at 12:00am PT and run until August 19th at 11:59pm PT. Players who accumulate 100 event points during this time will unlock a new Splatoon 3 theme.

The Tetris 99 42nd MAXIMUS CUP event runs from 12 a.m. PT on Aug. 16 to 11:59 p.m. PT on Aug. 19. To participate, any Nintendo Switch Online member just needs to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match. Once players have accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by the Splatoon 3 game and Expansion Pass paid DLC!
