Zelda: TotK players find new glitch to obtain the unbreakable Master Sword
Your move, Nintendo
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came out over a year ago, but just like Breath of the Wild before it, Zelda fans are still having a blast with the Switch follow-up. They’re playing the game as usual, exploring every nook and cranny, and of course, searching out all sorts of ways to play that Nintendo never intended.
You might remember early on in Tears of the Kingdom’s life that fans discovered a way to hold onto the unbreakable version of the Master Sword, which the player usually only gets to use during the game’s prologue. Nintendo was quick to patch that glitch out, and now one+ year later, dedicated fans have found yet another way to make the impossible possible.
The entire process, from discovery to execution, can be seen in the video above, which amounts to an hour-long feature that explains everything in painstaking detail. Not surprisingly, grabbing this version of the Master Sword involves all sorts of crazy bugs and glitches, and pulling them all off will require a ton of patience from the player. Nonetheless, if you want the unbreakable Master Sword as the end result, there is a way to get it done.
Long story short, grabbing the unbreakable Master Sword means performing glitch after glitch, which eventually overwhelms the game at a key moment, giving you access to the prologue weapon. How players discovered this trick is beyond me, as it is such a lengthy and specific process, but I guess when Zelda fans want something done, they’ll stop at nothing to achieve their goal!

1d agoBoth BotW and TotK are amazing in this regard; for any other open world game, the prerequisite to encountering a glitch is to just play it normally for a few hours.
In BotW/TotK, it takes a hour-long video to explain what you need to do in order to encounter the glitch.
