The 64DD was a Nintendo 64 accessory that was only ever released in Japan in 1999. When attached to an N64, the DD added features such as additional memory, a real time clock, and the ability to connect to the Internet. Only nine games were ever actually completed for the add-on, including Doshin the Giant, SimCity 64, and an F-Zero X expansion.

Although the 64DD was short lived, there were more games originally planned for it before things went south. In a new video, Did You Know Gaming examines every single 64DD title we know about that was cancelled before release. This list includes games from big franchises like Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pokémon, and more.

Many of the canceled 64DD games ended up making their way to other consoles in different forms. You’ll have to watch the video up above for a thorough breakdown of all the canceled titles, plus the history of the 64DD itself.

UPDATE: The second part of this video series has been released, and you can watch it above.

HandyGames shared a new trailer for A Rat’s Quest - The Way Back Home recently during their 2024 HandyGames showcase. You can watch it above. We still don’t have a release date for this one, so stay tuned.

Mat is a young male rat who lives in a rat commune in an abandoned wine cellar with his best friend Toby and other rodents. Having fallen in love with Nat, a female house mouse kept as a pet on the upper floors, he decides to become a Scavenger, for sneaking to his beloved somehow officially. Coming from different worlds, they plan to escape to “the outside” together. His overconfidence however puts them in peril’s way, and not everything in the commune is as it seems.

In a series of unlucky events, Mat finds himself alone, far away from the house. He must make his way back home, overcoming a journey across woodlands, caves, and swamps, defying the overwhelming danger of a winged, poisonous, and scale-bond variety. With a rivet for a sword and nails as throwing daggers, Mat will brave a world to which he is unwelcome.

Help the Scavenger get back to his friends and save the rat commune from a threat that is bigger than every cheese in the world!

World of Tanks Blitz "SMV CC-64 VIPERA" trailer

Roll that beautiful tank footage

by quence 0

World of Tanks Blitz has shared a new trailer for the SMV CC-64 VIPERA tank. An Italian tank destroyer with a limited turret traverse angle. Development on the vehicle began in the first half of the 1960s as a collaboration between the countries of the Western European Union. The project aimed to develop new prototypes of armored vehicles, and was highly influenced by promising designs for German tank destroyers. The vehicle itself was a successor of the turreted tank destroyers produced by the OTO Melara company. Due to a number of reasons, no metal prototype was ever created.

World of Tanks Blitz is a cross-platform, free-to-play, team-based MMO action game dedicated to fierce tank combat. Available on iOS, macOS, Android, Windows 10, Steam, and Nintendo Switch, the game lets players control over 370 legendary armored vehicles.

World of Tank Blitz is an action-packed tank game that lets players seamlessly enjoy the online real-time action anywhere. Fast paced and accessible, the game puts fun first, mixing the historical and lighthearted, the serious and the fantastic, offering a thrilling arcade-like experience.

Nintendo recently shared an extensive overview of their financials from Q1 of the current fiscal year. That included all the sales numbers for Switch games and units. If you’re into slightly more retro consoles though, Nintendo has you covered there too, as they’ve gone ahead and updated the software sales totals for both GameCube and 3DS (thanks to Pierre485 for sharing this info on Twitter).

The number of total GameCube games sold as of December 2022 is 205.58 million units. You might think that number wouldn’t change over the years. However, it’s actually 10,000 units higher than the previous number which was reported in March of 2009.

The 3DS, being a much more recent system, is also still seeing some action. The number of 3DS games sold now stands at 392.02 million units as of June 2024. That number is 60,000 units higher than the previous one from 3 months earlier. As of now, a total of 75.94 million 3DS systems have been sold as well.

Even years later, video game software still gets sold here and there after a console leaves the marketplace. It’s nice knowing that games for these older systems are still being purchased and enjoyed!

Aniplex and TYPE-MOON have announced two games in the FATE series that are coming to the Nintendo Switch. First is Fate/stay night REMASTERED, which will launch on Aug. 8th, 2024. Next is that game’s sequel, Fate/hollow ataraxia REMASTERED, which was not given a release date just yet.

Fate/stay night REMASTERED will be based on the PlayStation Vita version of the game, and this will be the first time it’s available in English. Check out the debut trailer for Fate/stay night REMASTERED above, and the trailer for Fate/hollow ataraxia REMASTERED plus more details below.

About Fate/stay night

A remastered version of Fate/stay night, fantasy action drama visual novel and TYPE-Moon’s first-ever commercial release in 2004, will be released for its 20th anniversary.

The remaster is based on the 2012 PS Vita release of Fate/stay night Realta Nua, featuring series-first adaptation into languages such as English and Simplified Chinese, as well as graphics and animations rendered in full high-definition. Experience in vivid detail the story of Shirou Emiya, a teenage boy with dreams of becoming a Hero of Justice, and his battle revolving around the omnipotent wish-granting vessel, the Holy Grail.

With numerous entries in the ever-expanding Fate series, including the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, the curtains of Fate, the Origin, rise once again.
