Nintendo has just announced that the first game in the Mystery Dungeon series, Red rescue Team, will be releasing on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on August 9th!
All of a sudden, you’ve found yourself in a new world, one where you’re now a Pokemon yourself and can speak and interact with other Pokemon. The adventure begins when you and your partner Pokemon set out on rescue missions in a world ravaged by natural disasters. But what is your true purpose and destiny in this Pokemon world? That’s the real mystery!
As the hero of this journey, you’ll begin the game by taking a personality quiz, with the results determining which Pokemon you will become out of several options, including Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, Totodile and Chikorita—just to name a few. From there you’ll select your partner Pokemon before being whisked to a world full of Pokemon to befriend and dungeons to explore. Form your rescue team, take on mysterious changing dungeons and engage in strategic, turn-based battles in this game originally available on the Game Boy Advance system.

5d agoI'm surprised they bothered with this one, not only because of the fact that the combined remake is already on Switch, but the fact that this game in particular can't have its paired version come with it due to Blue Rescue Team releasing on DS, which doesn't have an app for NSO. You're pretty much missing half the content here.
Half the content? Are you sure about that? Because the only difference is (obviously) two screens vs one, which is more preference than anything, some different music/sounding music due to hardware, minor other hardware differences like running on DS is slightly faster and the game "looks" slightly better, and 6 Pokemon exclusive to each that you can get with Wondermail, which is literally just a code you can type in from any version of the game, be it GBA, DS, or Wii U VC (or a site that lets you generate a code, but I digress).
Other than that, they are the exact same game in terms of story, dungeon count, partner/enemy AI, etc. And having the remake is hardly a good reason not to include the original. I still prefer the original because of some mechanical changes in the remake that I don't like.
